Please note: Colors may vary slightly between your screen and the finished printed product. Custom orders cannot be returned unless the item arrives damaged or contains an error made by The Salty Hook Company.

Custom Order Policy
Thank you for choosing The Salty Hook Company to create something especially for you. Because custom products are designed and produced according to each customer’s selections, the following policies apply to all personalized and custom orders.
Submitting Your Customization
Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing all submitted information, including:
Names, dates, initials, and wording
Spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
Product size and color
Font and design-color selections
Uploaded photographs, artwork, or logos
Design placement and special instructions
The Salty Hook Company will create the design using the information submitted with the order. Please contact us promptly if you notice an error in your order details.
Photographs and Uploaded Files
For the best results, please submit clear, well-lit, high-resolution images. Photographs should show the entire subject without important features being cropped, covered, blurry, or heavily shadowed.
The final quality of a custom product depends on the quality of the files provided. The Salty Hook Company may contact you if an image is not suitable for printing.
We cannot guarantee perfect results from screenshots, heavily compressed files, blurry photographs, very dark images, or images downloaded from social media.
Permission to Use Submitted Content
By uploading a photograph, logo, graphic, or other material, you confirm that you own the material or have permission to use and reproduce it.
You grant The Salty Hook Company permission to use the submitted material only as needed to design, produce, and fulfill your order.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel orders containing copyrighted, trademarked, unlawful, offensive, or unauthorized material. If an order is declined before work begins, the applicable payment will be refunded.
Customer photographs and custom products will not be intentionally used in advertising or social media without the customer’s permission.
Design Proofs
A digital proof will be provided when indicated in the product listing or selected during ordering. Production will not begin until the required proof has been approved.
Please review the entire proof carefully, including:
- Spelling and punctuation
- Names and dates
- Colors
- Image placement
- Design orientation
- Product selection
One standard revision is included unless otherwise stated. Additional revisions, completely new concepts, or major changes to the original request may require an additional design fee.
Failure to respond to a proof request will delay the order. Estimated production time begins after final proof approval—not on the original purchase date.
Proof Approval
Once a proof is approved, the design is considered final. The Salty Hook Company is not responsible for customer-approved errors, including incorrect spelling, dates, wording, colors, or image selections.
Changes requested after approval may not be possible. If production has already started, the customer may be responsible for the cost of a replacement product.
Colors and Product Appearance
Colors may appear differently on computer screens, phones, printed proofs, and finished products. Slight variations in color, placement, scale, or print appearance are normal and are not considered defects.
Product mockups are provided as visual examples. The exact placement and size of a design may vary slightly depending on the product, size, shape, and printing process.
Production and Shipping
Custom products require design preparation and production time. Any production estimate begins after all customization information has been received and the final proof has been approved.
Shipping time is separate from design and production time. Needed-by dates are considered requests and are not guaranteed unless The Salty Hook Company confirms the deadline in writing.
If an unexpected delay prevents the order from shipping within the promised timeframe, we will contact the customer with an updated estimate and available options.
The Salty Hook Company is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete information, delayed proof approval, incorrect shipping addresses, carrier disruptions, severe weather, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Changes and Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted as soon as possible.
- Orders canceled before design work begins may qualify for a full refund.
- Once a design proof has been created, any separately charged design or customization fee is nonrefundable.
- Orders cannot be canceled after the proof has been approved or production has begun.
- Product, size, color, photograph, or wording changes requested after production begins may require purchasing a replacement item.
We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate a change, but changes are not guaranteed once work has started.
Returns and Exchanges
Because custom and personalized products are made specifically for each customer, they are considered final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged because of:
- Incorrect size or color selected by the customer
- Customer-approved spelling or design errors
- Change of mind
- Dislike of an approved design
- Slight color or placement variations
- Poor-quality customer-submitted photographs
Please review product sizing information carefully before ordering.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or different from the final approved design because of an error made by The Salty Hook Company or its production partner, please contact us within seven days of delivery.
Include:
- Your order number
- A description of the problem
- Clear photographs of the product
- Photographs of the packaging if the item was damaged during shipping
After reviewing the information, we may offer a replacement, correction, or refund, depending on the circumstances.
Please do not discard a damaged product or its packaging until your request has been reviewed.
Shipping Addresses
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Please contact us immediately if an address needs to be corrected.
Once an order has entered production or shipped, an address change may not be possible. Additional production or shipping charges may apply if an order must be replaced because of an incorrect address provided by the customer.
Original Design Files
The purchase of a custom physical product does not automatically include editable artwork, transparent graphics, source files, or commercial reproduction rights.
Customer-supplied photographs, logos, and artwork remain the property of their respective owners. Original artwork created by The Salty Hook Company remains the property of The Salty Hook Company unless ownership or commercial usage rights are transferred through a separate written agreement.
Acceptance of These Policies
By submitting a custom order, approving a proof, or completing your purchase, you confirm that you have reviewed and accepted this Custom Order Policy.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
